Nigel Fennell's journey into farriery began at the anvil - drawn in by the glow of the forge, the strength of the horse, and the challenge of working with his hands. What started as curiosity soon became a lifelong craft. Today, Nigel holds a remarkable string of qualifications: CJF, FE, DWCF, AWCF and the prestigious FWCF (with Honours) - a title held only ever by six farriers worldwide, out of fewer than 40 who have ever achieved the Fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. 

With a career spanning over three decades, Nigel has competed - and won - at top-level farriery competitions across the globe. From forging under pressure to perfecting the smallest detail, he's built a global reputation for excellence, precision, and creative problem-solving. He has shod a wide range of breeds, from performance horses across multiple disciplines to those requiring more therapeutic shoeing.

As an inductee of the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame, and founder of Foremans Forge, Nigel has poured his passion into every product, every clinic, and every farrier he has mentored. His experience shapes everything - from handmade tools trusted by professionals, to a hoof oil formula that horse owners can rely on, to educational clinics that spark confidence and skill.

In 2024, Nigel received one of the American Farrier's Association's most prestigious distinctions - the Jim Linzy Outstanding Clinician Award - in recognition of his exceptional expertise and impact as an educator.

At his core, Nigel is a farrier who never stops learning, and never stops sharing. He believes that farriery isn't just a trade. It's a calling. And at the heart of it all is a simple belief: that great work comes from good people, working together, with tools they trust and skills they keep sharpening.
