Building Maximus

Maximus was created by cutting and forging concave shoeing lengths for the body and legs after the muscle cage had been built. His mane and tail are from 2.5mm metal plate in 30 x 1000mm pieces, forged, twisted and shaped to create movement.
His Gladiatorial Warhorse head dress was cut and forged from steel plate, with zinc 10mm butted chainmail for the back of his jaw. The muzzle was forged from one hollow 150mm steel sphere.
He is built on a stand with wheels to enable maneuverability.
Maximus took over 500 hours to build. He weighs 402kg and is galvanized dipped.

In essence - Maximus is more than steel - he's a myth brought to life. Sculpted with precision, imbued with motion, and finished to last, he stands as a Gladiatorial Warhorse forged in metal and memory!
